Prayer to Saints

I decided to include the following page because many people (including close friends) have been reassuring me that they are praying to the Saints and to the Virgin Mary on my behalf. Thank you so much for your care and concern.

Much love to all the people out there, regardless of your spiritual upbringing. I really hope and pray that your pride does not take offense to this writing, but instead that being open-minded will allow you to discover what Jesus taught us 2000 years ago. Many years have passed since His departure from this world, leaving plenty of room for people from various backgrounds to create movements, to instill false thoughts and to impose incorrect teachings on others. Unfortunately, this has been the story of the Christ till today.
I am sharing this TRUTH with you because I care for you (Yes, I do! Even though I might not even know you!) , and want the best for you.

Prayer to Saints or to the Virgin Mary, has always been an issue many Christians debated over. The Bible however, is very clear about its stance on prayer.

The vast majority of today’s “Christians” pray to Saints or to the Virgin Mary. This is totally unbiblical. The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers asking individuals in Heaven for their prayers. The concept that a saint, who is glorified in Heaven, has more ‘direct access’ to God than we do is blatantly unbiblical.

Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we, believers here on earth, can “…approach the throne of grace with confidence”

If living in Paris, and trying to go to London, why would you fly to Denmark first? Or better yet, if the SONY factory is right next to your house, why would you go to an electronics store a few miles away to get a Sony product? While the concept seems obvious and naive, that’s essentially what people are doing by praying to the Holy Virgin Mary or to Saints. Why pray to her, when her SOURCE is Christ Himself? You can spare her her time and guarantee that your prayers will be heard by simply going straight to the source.

1 Timothy 2:5

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

There is no one else who can mediate with God for us. If Jesus is the ONLY mediator, that indicates Mary and the Saints cannot be mediators. Let me reiterate that they cannot mediate our prayer requests to God.
The following verse speaks volumes — Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.”
With Jesus Himself interceding for us, why would we need anyone to intercede for us?

Others might argue that praying to Mary and the Saints is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for you. This is also wrong. All the Scriptures in the Bible describe believers praying for one another, or even the Apostle Paul asking other Christians to pray for him (Ephesians 6:19 “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel”), but nowhere in the Bible do we see anyone asking for someone in Heaven to pray for them.

John 14:6
“I am the Way, The Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me (Jesus Christ).”

The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the Saints can hear our prayers. Even though they’re glorified in Heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations. God is omnipotent. God does not answer prayers based on who is praying. We were given the grace and hope to pray as much as we want and to ask for whatever we need, as long as the requests are asked according to His will:

1 John 5:14-15
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of Him.”

If you grew up in a home with such traditions, I urge you to study the Bible and see for yourself that these ways are not Biblical. And if we are true Christians, we’d follow and obey every single verse in the Bible, without additions, extractions, or modifications. If you inherited the concept of prayer to Saints/Mary from family tradition or even from Christian tradition, please check and confirm the findings Biblically before following the herd. Break the historical cycle, and take a stand. If your grandparents thought they prayed correctly, don’t be blind by thinking that it is the correct way of prayer. Read your Bible: the answer is there.

Much love to you all!

In Christ,
Daniel

LOVE in Romans 5:7-8

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

GLOBAL SALVATION in Titus 2:11-12

For the grace of God has appeared that offers Salvation to ALL people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

All for the cause in 1 Cor 9:19, 22-23

Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. -- Apostle Paul
